Southern Ocean Lodges Off-grid Solar System 600kWp
The KUMI Solar Project in Uganda is a testament to PV Logics’ commitment to providing sustainable and reliable energy solutions to underserved communities. This off-grid solar system, with a capacity of 11kWp, was designed and implemented to electrify a small village, transforming the lives of its residents by providing access to clean and renewable energy.
Project Features:
High-Power Solar Modules: The use of 1200 high-efficiency 500W Longi solar modules ensures a robust and reliable power generation capability, catering to the energy needs of the hotel.
Advanced Battery Storage: With 600kWh Reflow batteries, the system guarantees substantial energy storage, enabling consistent power supply even during periods of low solar irradiance.
Efficient Inverters: Victron inverters were chosen for their reliability and efficiency, ensuring optimal energy conversion and seamless integration of the solar system.
Backup Generators: The inclusion of 2 x 300KVA generators provides an additional layer of reliability, ensuring uninterrupted power supply under all conditions.
Impact:
The Southern Ocean Lodges solar project has made a significant impact by transforming the energy landscape of the hotel. By shifting to renewable solar energy, the hotel has drastically reduced its carbon footprint, contributing to environmental conservation efforts on Kangaroo Island. This shift not only aligns with global sustainability goals but also enhances the hotel’s appeal to eco-conscious travelers.
The project’s success demonstrates PV Logics’ ability to deliver large-scale, high-performance off-grid solar solutions. It showcases the potential for solar energy to replace fossil fuels in hospitality settings, promoting a cleaner, greener future. PV Logics is proud to be a part of this transformative project, paving the way for sustainable energy solutions in the tourism industry.
